Forget Vivian
Episode 1:
Prologue
Vivian glanced down for a moment and then looked up.
The chandelier's bright light illuminated the man's handsome face, the beautiful shoulders and proportionate figure that were so highly praised by all the young people in the capital.
His deep purple eyes and sideswept hair were also features that made him stand out, and the aura surrounding him was one that commanded a certain respect.
The man cut the steak neatly and placed it on Vivian’s plate, making eye contact with her.
The purple eyes, which were emotionless, assessed her.
"Eat. I haven't seen you eat well lately."
Vivian stared vaguely at the perfectly cut pieces of meat.
He was a man that disliked distractions, and hated situations in which he had no control over. Knowing that, Vivian was now doing something he hated.
"But I'm not hungry."
This time, the man who cut his steak raised his eyebrows.
"Do you not like the food?"
"That's not it, Samuel."
Samuel Ruventia.
He'd just become emperor of the Ruventian Empire today, overcoming countless half-brothers in order to take the throne he had longed for. Thanks to this, Samuel’s spirits were a little higher than usual.
Moreover, after today, Samuel would be busier than before. It was precisely why Vivian had chosen this particular day.
"I have something to say."
"What is it then?"
Vivian looked up with a smile.
"Hmm?"
The man folded his arms in anticipation.
His whole body, leaning against the chair, gave a feeling of regalness.
"I meant…"
"Tell me what you want to say."
Slightly frustrated, he frowned a little.
The only reason why he hadn't lost his patience yet was because he was talking to Vivian.
If it were anyone else dragging the horse like this, he would have gotten up right away.
TL/N: dragging the horse= dragging the conversation out for too long
This subtle act of kindness and lenience made Vivian hesitate.
It's all over now.
"I think it's time we stopped this."
Just like that, Samuel's tranquil atmosphere shattered.
But I guess I meant something to you… and fortunately, it feels comforting.
Vivian looked down at the man's surprised face and looked again at the fingertips that were gently illuminated by the light.
There wasn't much time left.
The wife of Samuel, the wife of the Crown Prince…
It was time to cast off this time and end this marriage.
"Samuel, we're getting a divorce."
"Vivian!"
Samuel reached out towards Vivian, who'd already started disappearing, his face equally confused and surprised.
"You're only showing me that face because this is the last time you'll ever see me." Vivian laughed.
At last, she drove the hammer in.
TL/N: It's a metaphor.
"Just forget me."
Vivian added after a pause,
"That is my wish."
After she disappeared, another woman would soon fill her seat next to Samuel, anyways.
And, because of Samuel's constitution, Vivian's ability doesn't work. So instead, she decided to erase all of his memories, memories overflowing with regrets.
Filled with determination and strong-willed by nature, she made sure of her disappearance- nobody would ever find her.
"I wouldn't need to say that it was a wish."
What was I expecting, anyways?
TL/N: She's saying that she didn't need to wish for Samuel to forget her, thinking that Samuel would gladly forget her anyways.
Vivian looked at Samuel, not blinking once.
She wanted to remember this face, as it would be the last time she ever saw it.
And the next day, without leaving a single trace behind, Vivian disappeared.
