Episode 1, Part 1:
Chapter 0: The Beginning
“Hey.”
The cave was humid, and the voice was deep and harsh. I closed my eyes as something brushed softly against my skin, feeling goosebumps rise.
My legs were numb as I’d been sitting there for a long time. No, I couldn’t even feel my legs.
His voice broke through my consciousness just when it was about to fade.
“Your family must have hated you a lot, seeing that you’ve been abandoned here.”
When I didn’t answer, I heard his low laughter close to my ear. With a threatening growl, he stuck a sharp nail out and jabbed my shoulder.
I bit my lower lip and tried to hold back a groan.
“Are you an idiot? Did you agree to come here without making a fuss? You should’ve run away.”

“Ah, I see.”
I opened my eyes and saw him walk slowly before me.
From his leopard form, he transformed into a human, knelt down on one knee, and stared at me. Everything happened in a blur.
His cold hands touched my chin. I frowned at the contact, but he tilted it up, forcing me to look at him. Despite the darkness of the cave, I could still easily tell that his face was beautiful.
“Your eyes,” his lips moved slowly, “You don’t have the will to live.”
He gazed at me in wonder for a while, then changed back into leopard form, moving behind me. He breathed in the scent of my neck as if it were something extremely fragrant, his hunger evident.
“What are you going to do now?” I asked him carefully.
I’d thought about how I would die thousands of times before, and I’d always feared that if I died, my family would no longer love me. But now, at this very moment, I felt indifferent, as if it didn’t matter anymore. My voice didn’t waver one bit.
“I’m sorry, kid, but as you can see, I’m very hungry so I shall eat you.”
“…….”
“I’m going to tear your flesh and devour it, then after that, I’ll lick your bones clean.”
His voice was so horribly sweet. I blinked a couple of times, my face still indifferent.
“Is that so?”
Other than that, there was nothing else to say. He purred, as if pleased with my answer, and whispered again in my ear.
“Don’t worry, I’ll kill you at once so it won’t hurt. It’s a favor I always give to children who don’t cry.”
“……will this stop your thirst?”
“Ah, of course it will, but that’s not what I’m interested in right now.”
Suddenly, my throat felt dry. He was licking my neck.
“Are you ready?”
“Yes.”
Crack.
My eyes closed as soon as I felt that indescribable pain from my neck. My head was spinning and I felt nauseous. I tried opening my eyes, but I couldn’t. Something extremely hot flowed down from my throat, making me want to vomit.
Even until the end, my eyes did not shed a single tear.
“Make one final wish, kid.”
Those were the last words I heard in this life.
I had awful thoughts at that time. If I ever get a second chance, the first thing I’ll do is to get rid of people like you so you won’t be able to do that to me ever again!
